What’s the difference between cardiac and vascular rehabilitation?

Cardiac rehabilitation is essential for recovery after specific problems affecting the heart, such as a heart attack, heart failure or heart surgery. It aims to strengthen the heart muscle and prevent future heart problems. Vascular rehabilitation, on the other hand, is concerned with diseases and conditions affecting blood vessels throughout the body, such as stroke or peripheral arterial disease. Its aim is to improve blood circulation, reduce pain and prevent vascular complications.

Cardiac rehabilitation program

We’ll be with you every step of the way for 12 weeks. Your rehabilitation will include a medical and physiotherapeutic assessment to set goals and evaluate your progress. The latter is prescribed by your doctor and reimbursed by basic health insurance (LAMal).

Vascular rehabilitation program

Supervised by our multidisciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists, APAs, dieticians and psychologists, we support you for 12 weeks at every stage of your treatment. The latter is prescribed by your doctor and reimbursed by basic health insurance (LAMal).
